Ames, IA — Landus intends to enter a long-term lease agreement to expand its Innovation Center and eventually move its headquarters address to the Gray’s Landing commercial development site in downtown Des Moines, IA, according to a Tuesday, Nov. 16, news release.

The company first launched this farmer-centric innovation initiative in June at an existing office in Ralston, IA, where farmers could connect directly with global innovation leaders to drive a more sustainable and profitable future of farming.

Landus will continue to operate this complementary rural innovation hub in conjunction with the planned expansion in Des Moines.

“Our Innovation Center has experienced great success in its first year, and I look forward to more growth ahead," said Matt Carstens, president and CEO of Landus.

"Des Moines provides us the opportunity to enhance this piece of our business and better support future collaborations with leaders in data and emerging technologies.

“We will continue to put our farmer-owners at the center of everything we do, giving them a greater voice with collaborators in the ag innovation space.”

In addition to the expanded Innovation Center, Landus plans to build out open-concept employee workspaces onsite granting its remote workers a unique space to collaborate, foster connections, and engage with Innovation Center Events.

The Des Moines space will eventually become Landus' headquarters address once the company moves out of its existing Ames location, according to Mary Harrington, Landus communications and marketing leader.

"We will continue our work-from-home model for corporate employees, and this space will be predominantly used for our Innovation Center events with additional employee collaboration space available on site," Harrington said.
