It doesn’t matter if your digital life involves using smartphones, buying products online, using navigation, posting on social media, or listening to songs on your favorite video or music streaming service; AI impacts your choices one way or another. You can’t turn a blind eye to AI. Regardless of how you do business in the grain industry, you need to incorporate generative AI. Tech companies have embraced AI for years because it offers a form of automation. AI can automate tasks in your business, which helps improve efficiency and productivity. You also can perform data analysis, and the algorithms can help organize data quickly and efficiently. Fear is one of the biggest things keeping agribusinesses from getting involved with AI. To get over that fear, it helps to learn how AI already makes your life more efficient.

Your social media feeds. Social media timelines are created by AI (and yes, YouTube is considered social media). It manages to do this through a complex set of algorithms that analyze your past behavior, your web searches, and interactions. It then uses all this information to tailor your social media experience just for you.

The sole purpose of AI is to create an experience so addictive that you come back to your social media accounts over and over again. It’s AI that helps bring the same people back to you, only showing you people you interact with rather than your whole list of connections. TV and movie streaming services. Another great example of how AI impacts our lives is through streaming services like Netflix. It doesn’t matter what service you are using, AI is making the choices for you recommending content it believes is of interest.

Music streaming services. By studying all your data and behavior, your favorite music streaming service knows exactly what you listen to. So, next time you are hitting play on a recommended song on Spotify or Pandora or listening to a curated playlist on any of music streaming service, remember that AI is playing a big role.

Fall detection and car crash detection. Newer Apple Watch models come with fall detection tech, a feature that alerts family members and emergency responders when it senses you had a hard fall. It uses data from the accelerometer and gyroscope, as well AI algorithms, to sense the fall.

Similarly, Google and Apple phones now come with a car crash detection feature. If the phone senses a car crash, it sends the location to your chosen contacts and also sends an alert to the response team.

Smart home hubs and assistants. Smart Home devices like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Homepod are probably the most overt examples of the use of AI in our lives. When you are using a smart assistant, whether it’s Google Assistant, Alexa, or Siri, you should know that these assistants are based on AI. Helping you find the answers you’re looking for as well as helping you control elements of your home, such as managing heat/air conditioning, monitoring with camera surveillance, controlling lights, and other features.

AI image and text generators. Features like optical character recognition (OCR) scanning can convert real word objects to text, and AI image generators like Midjourney are excellent at coming up with vivid and beautiful images.

Self-driving vehicles. Just a few years back, using a fully automatic car was a dream, now companies like Tesla have made so much progress that we already have a fleet of semi-automatic cars on the road. Did you know that all the Tesla cars are interconnected, and the things that your car learns are shared across all the cars? This means, if you had to take an unanticipated hard left on a crossroad, all the Tesla cars will know how to maneuver that turn after they are updated.

Video games. Did you know the video game industry was one of the earliest adopters of AI? The integration started very small with the use of AI to generate random levels that people can play. When you are playing a game, you essentially start against a couple of AI-powered bots. Even when you are playing a single-person story mode game, you are playing against AI bosses. If you are playing racing games, you are racing against AI bots.

Navigation and travel. From your daily commutes to your big trips, AI is everywhere. Do you know that whether you are using Google or Apple Maps for navigating, calling an Uber, or booking a flight ticket, you are using AI? Both Google and Apple – along with other navigation services – use AI to interpret hundreds of thousands of data points that they receive to give you real-time traffic data. When you are calling an Uber, both the pricing and the car that matches your ride request are decided by AI. As you can see, AI plays a significant role in how we reach point A to point B.

Facial recognition. Did you realize that the technology you use to unlock your phones also piggybacks off AI? Yes, facial recognition is yet another technology that is a good example of AI. As times have changed, unlocking methods have gotten advanced.

Charging the batteries on your devices. Did you know that something as simple as charging your phone, tablet, or laptop uses AI? It will surprise you even further to know that has been the case for a long time now. If you’re unaware, adaptive battery refers to the feature that allows your devices to charge only when they need to be charged.
