The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2026, bipartisan legislation supporting investments in the nation’s inland waterways infrastructure.

The National Grain and Feed Association welcomed the legislation and commended House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Sam Graves, R-Mo., Ranking Member Rick Larsen, D-Wash., and members of the House for advancing the measure.

The legislation includes provisions supporting continued investment in the nation’s locks and dams and preserving reliable navigation on the Columbia-Snake River System, an important transportation corridor for U.S. agriculture and agricultural exports.

The grain and feed industry depends on an efficient, interconnected transportation system to remain competitive in domestic and global markets. Continued investment in locks, dams and other navigation infrastructure can improve supply chain reliability and support farmers, agribusinesses and rural communities.

The WRDA legislation advanced unanimously out of both the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee. The National Grain and Feed Association urged the Senate to act on the legislation so Congress can send a final WRDA bill to the president’s desk this year.
