Growth Energy, the nation's largest biofuel trade association, has relaunched its E15 Now campaign urging the Senate to approve a permanent legislative fix allowing year-round sales of E15.
E15 is a higher ethanol fuel blend that costs an average of $0.30 less per gallon than regular fuel and can be used in 96% of cars on the road today.
The campaign includes a new television advertisement featuring a working mother of two who highlights E15's potential to lower fuel costs for American families. The advertisement will run on digital and streaming platforms in Washington through the end of September.
Growth Energy also created an installation on the National Mall designed to show consumers, tourists and policymakers the potential savings available through E15. The installation features a 20-foot wall of coins, with one coin representing each of the 35 states where E15 is sold. The display provides an illustration of the savings drivers across the country can access by choosing E15.
The campaign is running on Capitol Hill during this week's Growth Energy Biofuels Summit, an advocacy conference for the U.S. ethanol industry. During the summit, biofuel and agricultural representatives from across the country are meeting with lawmakers to promote year-round E15.
Growth Energy said permanent year-round E15 could expand markets for American farmers while giving consumers greater access to a lower-cost, cleaner-burning fuel option. The House has already approved legislation addressing year-round E15 sales, and the campaign is urging the Senate to take action.
