De Heus Animal Nutrition has opened a new marine and cold-water fish feed mill in Vinh Long Province, Vietnam, expanding its aquaculture portfolio and increasing its capacity to serve producers in domestic and international markets.

The facility has an annual production capacity of 168,000 metric tons and is the company's first mill dedicated exclusively to feed for marine and cold-water fish species. The investment is part of De Heus' long-term strategy to support sustainable aquaculture through specialized nutrition products and advanced manufacturing technology.

The mill is equipped with production technology from Europe and the United States and operates under internationally recognized standards, including ISO 22000, ASC Feed and Best Aquaculture Practices certification. The facility is designed to deliver consistent feed quality while supporting responsible aquaculture production.

Growing global demand for high-quality seafood is creating opportunities for marine and cold-water aquaculture. The new mill will produce specialized feed formulated for high-value fish species, allowing De Heus to expand its offerings in this market segment.

In addition to serving regional producers, the facility will manufacture feed for export markets. Production will include feed for species such as sea bass, barramundi and other commercially important marine fish to help producers meet nutritional requirements for premium seafood markets.

Sustainability was incorporated into the facility's design and operations. The mill is intended to improve the efficient use of raw materials, enhance production performance and reduce energy consumption throughout the manufacturing process. These efforts align with the company's broader focus on responsible production and sustainable food systems.

The investment also expands De Heus' specialized feed production capabilities, supporting more efficient aquaculture systems while helping producers improve fish performance and product quality. The company said the new facility is part of its ongoing investment in innovation, sustainability and the continued growth of the global aquaculture industry.
