ADM announced a multimillion-dollar investment to increase throughput at its grain elevator in Optima, Oklahoma, with upgrades designed to move higher volumes of grain and feed products more efficiently through the company's North American supply chain.
The project is expected to reduce train unload times by about 50%, significantly increasing the facility's capacity to handle both corn and corn gluten feed pellets.
Planned improvements include adding 150 rail cars of track capacity and installing a new rail unloading pit equipped with two hard car diggers.
The Optima elevator serves livestock markets across the Texas and Oklahoma Panhandle region, one of the nation's largest livestock feeding areas. ADM said the investment will strengthen the movement of grain and feed products while helping meet growing demand from livestock producers.
According to the company, the upgrades also are intended to improve the safety, reliability and efficiency of unloading operations while providing greater flexibility to respond to customer demand.
ADM said its North American logistics network connects farmers with domestic and export markets, and the Optima facility plays an important role in moving grain and feed products to livestock operations throughout the region.
Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
