ADM has appointed Jeff Rowe to the newly created role of executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective Aug. 17, 2026.

The appointment expands the company's executive leadership team and is intended to support ADM's growth strategy and business priorities.

In the role, Rowe will oversee ADM's commercial businesses, global manufacturing operations and research and development. He will report to Juan Luciano, chairman of the board and chief executive officer.

Rowe joins ADM from Syngenta Group, where he has held several senior leadership positions since 2016. He became CEO in January 2024 after previously serving as president of Syngenta Crop Protection and president of Syngenta Seeds. Before joining Syngenta, he spent more than 20 years at DuPont Pioneer in executive roles spanning strategy, international operations, biotechnology and regulatory affairs.

Before becoming Syngenta Group CEO, Rowe served as president of Syngenta Crop Protection from July 2022 through December 2023 and president of Syngenta Seeds from September 2016 through June 2022. At DuPont Pioneer, he held leadership positions including vice president of strategic services and planning, regional director for Europe, vice president of biotech affairs and regulatory, corporate counsel and supply management.

Rowe is also a fifth-generation Illinois farmer and helps operate his family's farm, which uses regenerative agriculture practices to improve sustainability, productivity and profitability.

He holds a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics from Iowa State University, a law degree from Drake Law School and a global Executive MBA from New York University Stern School of Business and the London School of Economics.
