The National Association of Wheat Growers has appointed Ross Bodine as policy manager, where he will support the organization’s advocacy efforts on Capitol Hill and with federal agencies on behalf of U.S. wheat growers.
In the role, Bodine will work to advance the association’s federal policy priorities involving wheat producers and rural communities.
Before joining NAWG, Bodine served as a government relations intern with CropLife America, assisting with federal and state advocacy initiatives and helping coordinate the D.C. Agriculture Intern Network.
Bodine also gained agricultural research experience as an undergraduate research assistant under Dean Riechers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In addition, he completed internships with Corteva Agriscience and KWS Wheat.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in plant biotechnology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
“I’m excited to join NAWG and advocate on behalf of wheat growers across the country,” said Bodine. “Growing up around agriculture, I’ve seen firsthand how deeply these policies affect farm families and rural communities. At a time when agriculture is central to major policy conversations in Washington, I look forward to working alongside the NAWG team to ensure wheat growers’ voices are heard and their priorities remain front and center.”
“Ross brings a great combination of technical knowledge and policy proficiency to our team,” said NAWG CEO Sam Kieffer. “His energy, familiarity with hands-on agriculture research, and early DC policy experiences will complement the NAWG team as we continue to advance policies that support wheat growers and rural communities.”
