A man died near Devils Lake, North Dakota on January 14 after becoming trapped in a grain elevator pit. The incident occured at the CHS Elevator at around 9:20 a.m., according to a statement by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department. First responders recieved a report that the man had fallen and was now trapped in corn.

Despite the efforts of the first responders, rescuers ultimately failed to save the 34-year-old, who died at the scene. His name has not been released.
