
A fire at GrainCorp storage facility in Shepparton, Australia has been declared a "potential for explosions", prompting multiple fire crews to battle the blaze. Crews were called to the facility just before 5 am, and warnings were sent out to the community prompting them to watch for smoke.
The Country Fire Authority stated that investigations would be continuing throughout the day.
A GrainCorp spokesperson later stated that a loader in a canola meal storage shed had caught fire. Emergency responders were notified immediately, and the fire was contained quickly. GrainCorp is continuing to ensure the site is safe, and making efforts to minimize disruption to operations.
Additionally, paramedics treated two individuals on the scene, but no one required hospital transport.
