The Wichita Falls Fire Department was called to an old grain elevator in Wichita Falls, Texas to perform a confined space rescue after a victim fell approximately 20-25 feet into the structure's basement area.
The firefighters worked with American Medical Response personnel to reach the individual despite the confined space. The depth and limited access involved required the use of specialized rescue equipment, but crews were able to safely stabilize and remove the patient.
"Our crews and AMR personnel did an excellent job under difficult conditions," shared the department in a Facebook post discussing the incident. "Their training, teamwork, and quick actions made a difference. This is exactly why we train and stay ready, to answer the call, no matter the challenge."
