
Emergency services rescued a man out from a grain bin in Nokomis, Illinois on Tuesday. The Nokomis Area Fire Protection District received a call about an entrapment at around 6:00 PM, and on arrival found the man surrounded by corn and unable to escape despite bystanders' attempts to help.
With a coordinated effort by multiple fire departments and emergency services, after about one and a half hours the man was freed. The rescue involved moving grain through relief cuts in the bin.
After rescue the man was sent to a local hospital. No emergency responders were injured.
The Nokomis Area Fire Protection District has since thanked all responding departments and the local farmers who assisted with the rescue.
