Scottsdale, AZ— The Transportation Elevator & Grain Merchants Association (TEGMA) held its annual meeting on January 22nd. Aaron Reid, President and COO of JDH, will succeed Wyatt Brummer (Scoular), as the new Chairman of TEGMA following the leadership election of TEGMA’s membership.

Said Chairman Reid, “TEGMA is a North American trade association that brings together shippers and receivers, global grain companies, railroads, ports, storage houses, inspection agencies, and others involved in the shipment of North American grain to customers all over the world. It’s a privilege to help lead such an impactful organization.”

Reid is an agricultural professional with over 25 years of agriculture experience that includes key leadership positions in commodity trading and commercial operations. He is a native of Ashland, NE, and a University of Nebraska-Lincoln grad. He began his career at Frontier Coop as a grain merchandiser and later went on to serve as a Vice President at Arizona Grain before joining JDH in 2008. Aaron gained valuable experience in the company by serving in General Manager roles in the Northwest, Southwest, and Colorado Regions and overseeing the Omaha Trade Group. Aaron actively serves on industry-related organizations including NGFA and TEGMA.

To round out TEGMA leadership, members elected Trent Schairer (Bartlett Grain) as First Vice Chair, and Justin Cauley (CHS) as Second Vice Chair.

Schairer is the Vice President of Transportation for Bartlett Grain and Bartlett Milling, both Savage Companies, leading the North American supply chain and logistics team for Bartlett Grain since 2016 and Bartlett Milling since 2019.

Cauley is the Vice President of Transportation Sourcing and Planning at CHS, Inc. where he has worked since 2014. He leads strategic sourcing of transportation services and logistics planning across truck, rail, barge, vessel and container.

TEGMA officers serve one two-year term.

For Board Director terms expiring in 2025, TEGMA members also re-elected Angela Caddell (BNSF Railway), Jason Hess (Union Pacific Railroad), and Chad Hartwig (The Greenbrier Companies) to serve new three-year terms. Additionally, members elected new Board Directors Billy Shortal (Scoular), Craig Toews (Louis Dreyfus Co.), and Kia Mikesh (NDGI).

The new Board Directors succeed outgoing officers and directors Wyatt Brummer and Greg Beck (CGB). Mikesh succeeds Ron Seeber (Kansas Grain & Feed Association), who completed two one-year terms as an Associate Member Director.

Said Executive Director Erica Venancio of the outgoing officers, “Wyatt and Greg have been invaluable contributors to and leaders of TEGMA for over a decade. They each played a central role in revitalizing the association and making TEGMA as indispensable to the grain industry as it is today. TEGMA’s officers, members, and staff extend our profound gratitude to these extraordinary leaders-- and I know we’ll continue to benefit from their friendship and input despite the conclusion of their board terms.”
