Kseniya Bolomatova has been appointed executive director of the Union of Grain Exporters, the union said on its Telegram channel.

The union held an extraordinary general meeting of its members, during which the board of directors was elected. The board includes Ilya Aliyev, Nikolai Demyanov, Alexei Gribanov, Eduard Zernin, Dmitry Lysenko, Dmitry Sergeyev and Abukhasan Elnukaev.

It was reported in mid-December last year that Dmitry Sergeyev, CEO of United Grain Company (UGC), might become the union's board chairman. He would succeed Eduard Zernin, who held the position from the union's founding in 2019.

Zernin confirmed at the time that he was stepping down as board chairman. Firstly, the five-year term which he was elected for was coming to an end. "Also, I want to adjust the balance of my time in favor of my own business," he said. "Next year will be both challenging and full of opportunities. I wouldn't want to miss out on them," he said.

The Union of Grain Exporters is a non-governmental, non-profit organization. It was established in 2019 to promote Russian grain on the global market. It currently brings together 37 major grain producers and exporters (including UGC, MZK Export, Demetra Trading, Azov Grain Terminal and others), whose share in Russian grain exports accounts for 80%.
