The fire was called in early Friday morning, Nov. 29.
KITTSON COUNTY, Minn. — A Friday morning, Nov. 29, fire at a grain elevator in Donaldson, Minn., about 15 miles south of Hallock, has been contained with no injuries to the public or emergency personnel.
WDAY reported that the fire was called in to law enforcement shortly after 3:30 a.m., and multiple agencies responded. Debris from the fire had fallen on nearby railroad tracks, which had to be shut down as a result.
Kittson County Sheriff's Department told the Herald shortly after 11 a.m. Friday that the fire had been contained.
As of Friday morning, one unit still remained on scene, dealing with the still-burning rubble and potentially the railroad tracks, according to Chief Deputy Dave Thompson.
"The (grain elevator) was very much compromised," Thompson said. "(We're) just glad that no one was hurt."
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
