Authorities in O’Brien county, SD have released information into a farm-related mishap that seriously injured a man back on July 8.

According to a press release, the Sanborn Fire Department, Sheldon Ambulance Service and O’Brien County Sheriff’s deputies were called shortly after 11:00 that morning to 3317 Pierce Avenue near Sanborn where they found 71-year-old Bryon Storm inside a grain bin. Authorities say Storm had gotten caught on the inside sweep auger of the bin but had freed himself by the time rescue crews arrived. They were able to shut down the auger system and Storm was removed from the bin. He was treated on the scene and was taken to the Sheldon hospital. He was then transferred by air to a Sioux Falls hospital with serious injuries to his legs.
