On April 26, an F4 tornado struck C&A Scale Services' fabrication plant in Minden, IA.
According to President and Owner, Keith Clausen, the tornado destroyed 100% of the company’s building and equipment.
Clausen states that the company, which started in 1985, immediately moved its manufacturing business to a temporary location in Council Bluffs, IA with the help of many co-workers, family and friends.
The company has already begun plans for a new state of the art facility in Minden, in the same location as the previous building.
Prepping the greenfield site in Minden has begun, he says, and construction and installation of equipment is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
Clausen, who has been with the company for over 20 years and recently took over ownership in June 2022, from his uncle, Chuck Hildreth, states that the company manufactures bulkweigh systems, loading spouts, auger systems for loading shipping containers as well as inline grain samplers.
